Wow! It’s been a while since my last post. I have a really good explanation though. I’ve been busy! Lots of fun invitation suites, collaborating on some fabulous projects with some of the industry’s finest and launching a new section of my business. Yep, it’ll be a long post. So hang in there!
So let me first tell you about a super fabulous project that I was invited to work on with the following uber talented ladies: Callandra from Cherry Tree Occasions, Julie from Julie Williams Photography, Eve from Forget Me Not flowers, Candice from Tying Knots and Alannah who used to own a local bakery in Banff.
Back when winter was particularly horrible, Callandra and Julie asked if I would be interested in joining their team to put together an entry for this years Inspired Creations Contest; a contest put together by the ladies of blogs The Sweetest Occasions and Elizabeth Anne Designs. The contest rules stated that we had to create a concept for a Glitter and Glam theme, spending no more than $500. Some might have thought this impossible (ahem…ME) but with creative genius Callandra at the wheel, we were working on project inspired by “Canadiana Glam”. While I could go on forever about all of the details carefully planned out in a brainstorming session that took place in Alannah’s basement, I’ll let the FABULOUS shots taken by Julie speak for themselves. See our feature HERE on Elizabeth Anne Designs. For a whole collection of photos, please visit Julie’s blog.

Thank you so much to those ladies for allowing me to participate and do something a little outside of the ordinary!
Now onto other news…
When I first started Spoonful of Sugar Invitations, I picked out a templated website. It was a good fit for someone who didn’t want to dish out a ton of money to showcase my work. I updated the site as best I could to reflect my personality and more importantly, create a brand of sorts. It was earlier this year that I realized I hadn’t done a particularly good job with that. So I took to building my own site. I used my own design programs in conjunction with Showit; a seriously brilliant, insightful company that created an even more brilliant product.
The response I have had to my new website has been nothing short of amazing. There have been a plethora of compliments in addition to a number of people inquiring as to who built it. I decided that everyone should be able to have a great site that they can maintain and update themselves once built. With that, I give you a brand new division of Spoonful of Sugar….. SoS Designs! If you know someone who is looking for a custom site that they can maintain and update, send ‘em my way and stay tuned to the blog. I’ll be launching 2 sites that I’m working on for clients in the next coming months.
Thanks for dropping by and my apologies for the lack of posting!
